Blackburn offer Ronaldinho £20m

Blackburn have tabled an astonishing £20million offer for Brazil legend Ronaldinho after also making an ambitious loan move for David Beckham.

The forward - who has been told he can leave AC Milan - is being offered the chance to join ambitious Rovers.

Despite the jaw-dropping offer, Ronaldinho remains likely to snub the Barclays Premier League in favour of a move back to his homeland.

However, Anuradha Desai, chairwoman of Blackburn owners Venky's, claimed on BBC Radio Lancashire: 'He is keen to play in the EPL [English Premier League] and I think that goes in our favour.

'To be precise it is 7.6m euros (£6.5m) for first year and about 8.5m euros (£7.2m) for the second and third years.'

Poultry giants Venky's, who bought Blackburn in November, claim their Brazil office is in talks with the player's manager.

Ronaldinho, 30, is currently in his homeland after leaving Milan's training camp in Dubai. He joined from Barcelona in 2008 but has struggled to nail down a regular spot this season.
Brazilian sides Flamengo, Palmeiras and Gremio are leading the chase to bring him back to Brazil but none are able to match Blackburn's lucrative offer.

Blackburn boss Steve Kean is backing the shock bid for Ronaldinho.
He said: 'I know there has been contact made by the owners to representatives of Ronaldinho but I don't know how far down the line it is and whether it will actually happen.
