Mihael Kovacevic has agreed a short-term contract extension to stay at Dundee United.
The 22-year-old Swiss defender, who moved to United in January 2008, will remain at Tannadice until the end of the season, despite not yet appearing for the club in the current campaign due to injury.
Manager Peter Houston told the club's official website: "With Mihael being out all so season so far, but making good progress at last, this extension gives him the opportunity to prove his fitness and get back to playing regularly for the first team." He added: "Should this be the case, we fully expect to be able to offer a more fuller extension at the appropriate time.
"In the meantime, the short-term extension benefits both the player and the club."
