Struggling Bayern Munich are ready to swoop for Everton defender Leighton Baines after watching the Toffees' left-back impress in Saturday's draw against Wigan Athletic, according to The Sunday People.
It is thought that £10 million would be enough for the Bavarian club to secure the services of former Wigan defender Baines, a fee that would provide funds for Everton manager David Moyes to bring fresh faces in to Goodison Park, with a striker thought to be a high priority.
Baines is thought likely to be tempted by a move to the Bundelsiga, and although Bayern currently lie in 5th position, lowly by their standards, the likely prospect of Champions League football may be too good to turn down.
The left-back has been in impressive form this season after failing to make Fabio Capello’s 2010 World Cup squad.
Baines is currently placed 157th in the Castrol Rankings, up from 259th a month ago.
If the move goes ahead in January, it would serve as another blow to Moyes and his Everton side, who are struggling in the Premier League this season and also have Steven Pienaar reportedly set to leave for Tottenham
