Blackburn vs Wolves preview

Blackburn Rovers are still licking their wounds from Manchester United's mauling as Wolverhampton Wanderers look to inflict further pain.
Sam Allardyce's side were well and truly spanked at Old Trafford last weekend as the Red Devils tortured Rovers in a 7-1 goal-fest.
A defeat like that will fester for the Rovers manager and he will not accept another performance of that nature when Mick McCarthy's strugglers come to town.
Allardyce does at least return to home comforts, having claimed victory at Ewood Park in their last two games and Wanderers' woeful away record will give them further solace ahead of the Premier League clash.

Rovers news

Blackburn will give midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen a red-hot welcome on Saturday as he returns to face Wolves in what are sure to be arctic-like conditions.
The Norway international missed United's thrashing with a hamstring injury but is back in contention for Rovers. And with two match-winning goals the last time he played, he will be warmly embraced by his team-mates.
On-loan Mame Biram Diouf is also free to return after being forbidden from playing against his parent club but Pascal Chimbonda is extremely unlikely to play, not least for his mare at Old Trafford.
The French defender, who was linked with West Ham United in the summer, has been told he is free to leave the club in January and last weekend's malaise could be his final appearance in Blackburn colours.
Rovers still have a considerable injury list with Nikola Kalinic (thigh), Steven Nzonzi, Martin Olsson (both hamstring), Vince Grella (Achilles) and Keith Andrews (groin) all out.
Wolves, meanwhile, head to Ewood Park after rediscovering that winning feeling in the 3-2 triumph over Sunderland.
The Wanderers at last got their rewards for their recent endeavours as Sylvan Ebanks-Blake fired a late winner to sink the Black Cats and the club head to Blackburn with the whiff of more points in their nostrils.
But the win - only their second in 12 games - failed to improve their league position of 19th and McCarthy will be keen, to say the least, for his charges to pounce on Rovers after their heavy defeat to United.
